The Daka Mountains are located on the northern shore of the Sea of Hroth. They stretch across the entire continent of Sama on its southern most coast. These mountains provide a barrier for travel over land to the continent of Sama. This has stunted much of the growth of the towns and villages along Hroth shoreline.
The only known pass from the northern side of the mountains to the southern side, that does not involve extremely dangerous mountaineering, is the Dregrot mountain pass, which opens up in the Forest of Rath on the northern side of the Daka range, and on the Ithsmus of Farendil on it's southern enterance. This pass is filled with a colony of Kobolds and Trogyldytes which frequently attack travelers, however, the large communites of these races live deep in the sub-levels of the pass.
